Pen Portrait Simon Knowles – Executive Headteacher

After a short career in Accounting and Finance I decided to train to become a teacher and studied a Bachelor of Education degree at University of Wales Swansea. After completing my probation year in Wales I relocated to London and since then have dedicated my vocation to improving learning for children within this wonderful and diverse city. My ambition has always been underpinned by the uniqueness of each child we serve and the development of their intellectual, spiritual and physical capability. During my career, I have taught all years in the primary age and in different schools in Barnet, Hackney, Camden and Haringey. My Leadership career started in a church school in Camden and has developed from there.

As the Executive Headteacher, I oversee the strategic leadership of the Tri School of Holy Trinity, St Michaels, St Ann’s CE Primary School and Little Engineers Nursery. As a governor I oversee the school leaders’ reports, the evaluations of school effectiveness and the link between the schools’ resources and learning priorities. I work in close partnership with the chair to review the working of the committee and the quality of the information that governors receive from the school to make their strategic decisions.
