Physical Education and Sports
Together Everyone Achieves More TEAM
Sport is central to achievement and effort is encouraged through team and individual games at school and through inter-school competitions and tournaments.
We offer a range of sports and encourage a life-long positive attitude towards healthy living and sport. Years 1-6 do the daily mile and are working on sustaining their pace for longer periods of time and distances and we have a weekly running club on Wednesday's after school. Children achieve a certificate for each Running Mile Stone they reach.
We encourage children to participate in competitive sport and our school competes as often as possible. Our annual sports day takes place at Down Lane Park and we all look forward to the LAT Olympics at the White River Stadium.
Pupils are encouraged to try a wide range of outward-bound activities during the Year 6 and Year 5 residential school journeys to Pendarren and Brancaster. These include climbing, abseiling, high ropes courses, challenge courses, raft building and archery.
